View submission: How many people love(d) their job?

I had a very challenging technical job i loved, I absolutely hated the office politics and back stabbing, and glory seeking, and dysfunctional personalities. I miss the work NOT the management.

Yes. Left a “great” Big 3 (at that time, lol) job because of the hostility and abuse that Management allowed. Made my own way (because I could) left and never looked back…

That’s what happened at my favorite job during the 2 ½ years during the layoffs. It was so painful. Crazy how coworkers can turn nasty when pinned against each other.

Same. I was a computer programmer. I lioved sitting alone in my cubicle doing technical work. The problem is that, everywhere I worked, the management hated to see people who were happy in their jobs. I was always getting stuck with more responsibility (not necessarily more authority). I hated getting in trouble because I got stuck being ‘team lead’. ‘Project lead”, etc, and getting in trouble because people that I had ‘unofficial’ managerial responsibility for couldn’t be trusted to do their jobs. If I had been allowed to sit quietly and do my own work, I might have never retired.
