1958 Austin Healey Bug-Eye Sprite. I was 13, it was a basket case. Literally every part of it except the wheels had been removed and stacked inside it.

My dad said, "When that thing looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, it's yours, and you can drive it.

Took me 2 years, but I did it. After that, I'd tackle anything and fix it. Correctly. I've been an engineer for 50 years because of that.

I bought a 1978 Ford Fiesta in 1986 for $400. It ran great for years until it caught fire on Highway 580 near Walnut Creek.

1974 Ford ltd, giant boat of a car, it did however have 7 ashtrays in it. That was helpful as a smoker.

1948 Wolseley 6/80. Purchased for $400 from my work place where I began my automotive mechanics apprenticeship in 1980 at age 16.

Amazing car. OHC 2.2 6 cyl twin SUs. Used as police cars in UK. Leather and wood galore. 160 kmh. Pretty fast family sedan....for the time. The grille badge was illuminated. Lol.

1984 shit brown, used buick skylark that my parents chose and paid 400$ for. It was a nightmare. Parts would literally fall off it while driving. It stalled out all the time. It was not safe.

1974 Ford Maverick, Army Green. It had an “add-an-air-conditioner” underneath the dash that would spit out ice particles when it froze up. I think gas tank was filled near license plate in the back. Good times!!!
