Please do not delete your post after receiving your answer. Consider leaving it up for posterity so that other Redditors can benefit from the wisdom in this thread.

Once your thread has run its course, instead of deleting it, **you can simply type "!lock" (without the quotes) as a comment anywhere in your thread to have our Automod lock the thread**. That way you won't be bothered by anymore replies on it, but people can still read it.

After 30 your body instantly breaks down and you die.

Stay active, exercise, and generally eat well.

Your 30's are mostly like your 20's if you don't have a family, but your friend circle will get a lot smaller.

Be careful of that sneeze. You could throw your back our and/or shit yourself.

If you're in a situation where you need to find an adult. Too bad, YOU are the adult.

Health is wealth. Reduce drinking alcohol. Eat your vegetables. Exercise regularly. Stretch. Like really fucking stretch. Invest into your retirement. Don’t focus on material things (cars, watches, etc). Spend time with your parents, grandparents, siblings. Treat people how you’d want to be treated.

1-live your life to the max until you get married

2-don’t get married until you lived in the same house with your partner at least for 6months

3-spend time with your parents, you will regret it when they are gone

4-when you get married remember that compromise is the way to keep the marriage going

5-when you have kids try to spend time with them while they are little , no one can give you back those moments.

Be kind and be useful. The only way for everyone to win is cooperation. And learn how to take care of yourself via exercise, good hygiene, and mental health. Keep trucking dude

Be self reliant and stay that way.

Don't rely on your parents, your wife/girlfriend, your friends, the government or your next paycheck to be able to survive.

None of them are guaranteed. Being able to sustain yourself independently by your own means will significantly reduce anxiety and stress.

40 this year, handle your shit. Meaning handle your responsibilities, meet their needs before it’s a problem. Save up for your future self, and avoid toxic women.

Don’t stagnate in an entry level position either, fight to move up until your boss is no longer a moron.

Be intelligent enough to act on your better judgement. This can apply to many things but specifically your health. You know you shouldn’t eat that McD for lunch because they’re literally putting formaldehyde chemicals in the grease to save from having to change the grease out as much. With this knowledge act on not eating that food.

Getting laid just satisfies your ego and you'll get tired of it quickly enough.

Who you decide to date long term is the most important decision you'll ever make. The old dating advice of "never date someone you wouldn't marry" is absolutely true.

A man is at his best when his life is simple. We don’t handle complicated well.

Now, this doesn’t mean men aren’t good at complex things or tasks. I’m strictly talking about your overall life. Keep your life as simple as possible, we’re not built for constant drama or playing dumb relationship games. Don’t allow yourself to get caught in those traps. Seriously, don’t, you will regret it.

I'm 29 as well and I've been seeking the same advice.

There's no secret to it. Everything people have told me boils down to a few things. Eat healthy, exercise regularly, drink less alcohol, enjoy your hobbies, stay close with your friends and family.

Be graceful with you and your loved ones.

Don’t stress it if it’s not gonna matter in 5 years.

Always do your best and honor your word.

Be kind to the inner child in you who may have to heal some things you didn’t know where an issue.

If you’re ten minutes early you’re late. (lol this one only worked for me in the army) lol

Remember everyone has something going on or has something they’re carrying around that they struggle with too.

Be honest even when no one is looking.

Strength train 3x a week no matter what. No better ROI than this in anything you do.

You are not too old to go back to school or start a new career. I know many friends who started law school at 30 and are working lawyers now.

Contrary to popular belief, the best relationship partner should have almost the exact opposite strengths and weaknesses as you. A strong relationship is more like a business partnership than a club of people with similar interests.

And the most attractive quality in a partner is that they think you are awesome and sexy.

This isn't my advice, it's from a legendary best of craigslist post long ago but its one of the best things Ive ever read about dating women: If you start talking to a woman and you haven't slept with her within a reasonably short amount of time, you never will. Women are more decisive about this kind of thing than we are. (obviously coworkers, friends, people in relationships don't apply here)

From early on we're bombarded with other people's expectations, but the only person you are truly beholden to, is yourself. Do what you can to be proud of yourself, within your own standards.

Get healthy and find a “life long” physical hobby (swimming, golf, pickleball, hiking, etc).

Spend time with your elders. They will start to decline faster each year.

Embrace minimalism and sell off that crap you haven’t touched in 5 years. Invest the money in something meaningful.

Start reading, every night.

Honestly, take care of your body. It’s so much harder to turn things around the older you get. Develop some techniques to take care of your mental health, whatever it may be. Figure out which relationships are worth investing in and which aren’t. Build a strong foundation for your life.

I've told my younger brothers not to get married, fortunately they listened and now they watch as their friends get brutalized in divorce court.
