I (45M) declared myself provisional President of the Republic – well, I declared a republic – without consulting my allies or the guy (52M) they're negotiating with, leaving that guy no choice except to accept a republican settlement with him as the compromise candidate for President. AITA?

Somehow, I feel like maybe my revolutionary cabal wasn't all that responsible for this uprising and that actually a lot more people didn't like the old empire for very different reasons, reasons for which they dislike me and my buddies too. But I'm sure that won't cause any problems for the next 16 years, right?

NTA.

Screw the anarchists, monarchists, constitutionalists, democrats, nationalists, federalists, criminal gangs, militarists, reformists and everyone in between. You just restored the 2,000 year old natural order of Han supremacy and you should be damn proud of it. Oh, and screw the barbarian Manchus too.

Also, just read this book written by two mad lads - something Manifesto. Maybe you should do a collab with their supporters sometime in the future. Those land reforms sound sick ngl.

NTA. People want a republic. I mean, it's not like you proclaimed yourself *emperor* or anything. LOL. Imagine the outrage if someone tried *that!*

NTA, but I really think you should keep an eye on that protege of yours, Jiang. I have a feeling he might get up to some A-hole antics eventually...
