Holy hell.. Woke up Saturday morning feeling like death warmed over… Fever and junk in the lungs for three days now.. Coughing so violently to get the green slime out of my lungs whole body aches..

Covid was a walk in the park compared to this..

Be careful out there…

Update… Urgent care just diagnosed me with Influenza A… 1st time I’ve had the flue… I’ll be contagious until Friday, or that’s what they told me.

Hearing that half the UM ER patients are suffering from Influenza A. It’s lasting up to 2 full weeks for some. My heart goes out to all of you suffering from it.

In the last month, I've had Noro, then Covid, and now Flu A. Have kids they said... it'll be fun, they said...

They use a percussor in the hospital that has a silicone bowl thing on the end. Like a fat suction cup. When it hits your chest the air compressed inside transfers a shock wave onto the alveoli of your lungs. That shakes the phlegm off so you can cough it out. You can get similar results using a cupped palm, best done in a hot shower. If you slap your cupped hands together and it sounds hollow you're doing it right. Make that sound by slapping your lats and ribs for 5 or 10 minutes in a steamy room and you'll cough that shit out radically faster.

Had something like this a couple weeks ago. Went to urgent care when my temp hit 103 and they did a full respiratory panel and put me on Tamiflu as a precaution even though the rapid test they did was negative. Full respiratory panel was also negative for the 14 or however many viruses so they decided its bacterial and put me on Zithromax which finally got me back on my feet.

That week was absolutely brutal though.

Urgent care doc said she’d never seen so many flu cases so quickly. Something like 20 in a week just for her, not even counting the other docs at the office.

Also had influenza A and was sick for over a week, still feeling pretty wiped after recovering. Feel better soon, get lots of rest and fluids!

It’s bad. I’ve had a 103 degree fever for 4 days now. Fucking brutal.

Get one of the triple tests. Odds are that it's flu a. I've been down since last Wednesday and had to take another day off.

Get tested for both. I've known people recently who had both the flu and Covid at the same time.

i felt something rapidly kicking in on friday night and i am still down for the count; here i was all excited that i made it thru january without getting sick! i wouldn’t mind sleeping for a few days straight if i could get comfortable without some part of my body hurting.

my condolences, friend.

I’ve masked since Covid started. Haven’t been sick UNTIL I got this thing. It’s been 3 weeks, and it’s almost gone. Misery. The first day fever was terrible.

I got a full respiratory panel last week, and like so many others, it ended up being Flu A. Way worse than the COVID I had a few years ago. I'm going on 9 days and still just feeling blah. I have no fever anymore, though, which is a relief. Mask up and be careful.

And here I thought this was going to be about an actual bug. Like the stink bugs that just won’t go away. I would argue they are more annoying at this point.
