Good riddance.

I'm never ever ordering from them. My past order is still in transit, and I had to PayPal chargeback since their support refused to refund me.

ELI5 what happened? Vote manipulation how so?

From what it's worth I've only ordered 1 skin from DBrand and one from Slickwraps (red back for an 7 and an iPhone retro skin), and both arrived in time. But I agree they're cheaply made.

Max Lee warned us months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Drama/comments/6ktskg/android_youtuber_max_lee_posts_a_45_minute_video/

Unfortunately his video was deleted. Him Flossy carter and a few other tech youtubers got in contact with slickwraps to do a contest where the winners from their contests get a free phone provided by slickwraps. The winners ended up not getting the phones from slickwraps and making Max look bad(as if he didn't send out the phone when it was suppose to be handled by slickwraps)

I am guessing he removed the video because he didn't want to get sued he was straight going in on them blasting them as a shit company.

Slickwraps and DBrand are both terrible vote manipulators. We need to make our own Reddit brand.

They're still going, too. There was a comment in this thread by u/Petesdhh disparaging dbrand:

Dbrand are scammers

It has since been deleted. That's the user's only comment.

I bought from them in the past, and it was an ordeal. It didn't show up after a month, then they said they sent another, with tracking, but tracking was never sent. They were supposed to give me a discount on the sale, due to the trouble, but I never got that. They then attacked me on XDA and have done so on Reddit when I posted comments about it. I was threatened with legal action by them when I posted a bad review of their skins. I still have the XDA conversations somewhere, I'm sure of it. When posting about dbrand (which has been a totally different story than that of my SW experience), they down voted the comments, and sent me messages through PM.

They've paid for likes on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. They troll and copy dbrand whenever they can.

They're a fucking joke. Good riddance.

Slickwraps sucks ass anyway, their customer service team seems like it’s ran by a bunch of retarded teenagers. Bought a wrap for my moms iphone and was blown away by how shitty the product was.

Turned me off of skins in general, but I’d hope dbrand or elsewhere would have better quality.

I ordered from slickwraps on Nov 12 and it is still processing. Before the subreddit takeover one of their employees had a very aggressive throwaway that would flame people if they had valid concerns about their orders. I ordered a year or two ago from them without any issues so this is all strange to me.

Edit: order shipped as of 12/14

I was going to say something positive about dbrand, but I guess they're garbage as well? Last time I bought anything from them, it was for my Nexus 4. Never had any issues, and always felt like Slickwraps was kind of a scummy company that was copying them.

But I guess both companies suck? I can't even keep up with this shit lol

Good. Slickwraps is a garbage company. I got a faulty skin where a good bit of it didn't reach the edge (So much for precision) and they told me I can buy another one like $3. It's not about the cost. It's the fact that they fucked up and wants me to pay again to fix their problem.

Told Dbrand about it and they sent me like 10 skins for free to do a video. Ended up getting like 300 views and disliked 23~ times. They didn't want anything to do with me after that.

This one time I was looking for a phone cover. Bought one on Slickwraps. It arrived (late). I was so disappointed that I bought fucking stickers. I told them their website never mentions they sell stickers. It's all about "textures" but it's just fucking paper. Never got a reply.

In line with European privacy laws I asked them to remove my personal info from their database. Never happened. Still receive spam 3 years after purchase.

Criminals.

I posted about a dbrand skin in /r/GalaxyS8 and slickwraps commented just to rip on them. Real scummy of them.

Damn, are phone skins this profitable? How are Dbrand and the like making so much money? How on earth does Dbrand afford to sponsor so many fucking phone videos? The last phone skin I ordered was some $2 one off eBay with free shipping and it was pretty decent. You'll have a hard time convincing me to spend $10 to $20 on any phone decal
