Yep I live here - Rome - I’m all too aware of the fuckiness of ZTL. Had to drop some friends off after a wedding in Firenze and I tried like absolute buggery to avoid the ZTL, paid attention for any sign I saw warning be about it.
Thought I got through it, only to have two fines in the mail months later.
Fuck Firenze

At this point I'm convinced that the lack of clear warnings is intentional. It's a good bit of money income.

Never had a problem with roman ZTL, they have signs bigger than my car, how can you miss them?
