For three and a half weeks, Israeli forces have been besieging the northern Gaza Strip. Israel has almost completely blocked the entry of humanitarian aid, thereby starving the hundreds of thousands of people who live there. Information emerging from the besieged area is only partial, because ever since the war began, Israel has barred journalists from entering Gaza.

I'm Irish. We are no strangers to ethnic cleansing. Nor famine.

Ireland was the laboratory for what the British put into place in Israel in 1948.

But with what sadistic enthusiasm Israel punishes innocent people.

And don't mention October 7th.

I know the history.

I am broken-hearted for the Palestinians.

Images & video online the past few days in private chat have shown men & boys stripped to underwear & marched at gunpoint to unknown locations, women & children herded into large ditches with all their belongings, whereby IDF soldiers drove tractor's with around & around them in closer & closer circles, kicking up rocks & sand & covering them with a light layer of sand before stopping & taking the mother's out, leaving the children in the pit. Then throwing children at women to catch & forcing the women to walk away with whatever child they caught. Terrorising mothers & children & forcing them to march at gunpoint with whatever child they caught. A seperate still photo of sand & dirt piled up in multiple 2-3 metre high piles, at least 4 metres long with the legs of a juvenile male sticking out.

These piles looked similar to the area where the ditch was seen in the video, as if the ditch was filled in & then these piles built on top, but came from a different source. We know that mass graves with 381 bodies have already been found earlier this year after the IDF left occupying Al-Shifa hospital in late April, some bodies were found still retaining medical cannulas & other medical items, whilst some showed evidence of summary execution with both hands & feet bound. There is precedent for mass killing, there have been photographs of Palestinian men naked except for underwear lined up next to ditches at gunpoint released online in past 12 months. This is not just ethnic cleansing. This is genocide. These are all civilians.

Maybe the Zionist dream of reconquering Israel's biblical lands is being used as cover by the israeli and international elites to facilitate the annexation of Gaza and the expulion of its population, in order to be able to tap into the vast potential wealth of the gas fields of Gaza Marina. The stake here is energy supply for Egypt, Jordan and the European Union and the massive revenue generation for israel. These fields are currently theoretically under administration by the Palestinian Authority. Removing Gazans from parts of or the whole of Gaza and annexing and re-settling that territory would give Israel a legal claim to those fields. The EU could become independent from Russian Gas, Jordan and Egypt would get the cheap gas they desperately need, the Gulf States could invest in another Dubai and Israel's coffers would be full. What's not to like (unless you're palestinian?

Israel's assault on North Gaza's last functioning hospital - and emptying northern Gaza of its inhabitants during its ongoing ethnic cleansing campaign - this is an extermination by IDF Terrorists who are to the Palestinians what Nazis were to Jews. No less barbaric, sadistic, vile and evil. Occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide define the colonizing occupiers of PALESTINE!

It's a sad reflection on the vile racism of so many Israelis that they can applaud the genocide and ethnic cleansing perpertrated by the IDF. Also shameful that the international community does not intervene but sits on the sidelines as they did when Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia

This article comes very late. Israel is not about to slide into ethnic cleansing. Ethnic cleansing has been happening for a long time, as have other war crimes.

Choosing how to die. Choosing where to die

"Yet Israel has refrained from giving the displaced any guarantee that they will be able to return once the war ends."

Israel has also "refrained" from providing any credible assurance that those who attempt to flee won't be shot on sight or bombed as they proceed along the "designated routes".

Starved, slaughtered, tortured, terrorised. But not stupid.

Does Israel not know the word "dignity"?

Has it not heard of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising?

The above comment was deleted by Haaretz.

Haaretz will have received a tremendous windfall with the upsurge of non-Israeli subscriptions that will have been taken out after October 7.

Does Haaretz, then, not owe it to its non-Israeli subscribers to moderate its comments section with a minimum of diligence and integrity?

Why was the above comment removed? Which of Haaretz's Terms of Use does the comment violate? If someone "reported" the comment, why was it not reinstated by a Haaretz moderator after being removed?

I suppose Haaretz only watches the numerical data. Until non-Israeli subscribers cancel their subscriptions, I guess it can continue to mistreat subscribers who post comments.

And if all their articles must be approved by the IDF prior to publishing, don't you think our comments actually do liberal Israeli's a favour given we can bypass all of the censorship they have in place over the media they can access. Who else is going to tell them that there is credible evidence of extermination, that it is not just some buzz word that is spreading of social media, but that there are agencies all over the world conducting forensic analysis on the video footage and photographic evidence supplied to them from different locations, at different times in the past 12 months.

Since the war on Gaza, many Jewish Americans march in support of Israel, holding Israeli flags and signs stating "I stand with Israel." Do these Americans stand with Israel's ethnic cleansing and destruction of Gaza? Not me.

17

Hamas will be destroyed and the peaceful residents of northern Gaza will return. Your melodrama is absurd. It's a war and war is unpleasant. Terms such as ethnic cleansing have specific meanings and require evidence to instantiate. This Haaretz editorial provides none.

Fortunately there is evidence, and it is being documented and forensically analysed.

Unfortunately it will be too late for so many.

The fact that you are denying extermination is utterly shameless.
