Gemtext-over-DNS (GoD): base64-encoded gemlogs served as TXT records. :) A more feasible idea is for Gemini and Gopher clients to keep local archives of visited pages, so that they can be accessed when servers are down. This was suggested by Solderpunk in: gopher://zaibatsu.circumlunar.space:70/0/~solderpunk/phlog/the-individual-a rchivist-and-ghosts-of-gophers-past.txt Locally archived pages can also be versioned, as in git, so visitors can see the diff when a previously accessed page changes. Amfora allows subscribing to pages (it fetches them periodically and notifies you when they change); this feature would work well together with a versioned local archive. To echo some other suggestions: - with something like geminitrack, you can save entire capsules in gempub format for offline reading; - resilience against servers going down is one of the main goals of IPFS.
