Death? Preposterous! - A Non-violent RPG

What is this game?

As the name suggests, this is an RPG inspired by Undertale. It's actually fairly unique - when you die, you can choose to either be revived, or keep playing as another character. There are 10 playable characters in total. Each one has the same goal (to confront the evil bad guy), but they each have their own motivations, and their own circumstances.

Did I enjoy playing it?

No, the game is unique but very flawed, and just a bit weird, I guess? Every time you die, you enter Heaven, where all NPC dialogue lasts for 5 minutes and tells you all about the game developer's views on life and death. It reminds a little bit of The Egg, except here it's bad. The game's writing is very tedious and preachy.

The gameplay is also annoying: enemy encounters are essentially puzzles, but they're often very obscure and require very specific actions. Like, you can't just use the Empty Ice Cream Cup on an enemy which is obviously an ice cream machine, no, you have to observe the enemy *twice* before the player character realizes what they can do. It's annoying! And even after you defeat the enemy once and get their unique reward, they just keep spawning every 5 seconds!

Playing it on Linux, or low-spec hardware?

It's a very lightweight Game Maker game, with a native Linux version. No problems in this department.
