So this guy on the mailing list has posted another update to his Gemini paywall CGI script called 'gmipay'.

Of all of the terrible things that The Web has spawned, I don't think I'm alone in my belief that paywalls are among the worst.
Can we agree to, you know, *not* do this kind of thing? It's inevitable that capitalist parasites are going to find ways to sink their grubby little chompers into everything; but please, let's at least try and fight this before it becomes a trend.
Don't do this; not here, too.

I could see this was crapto (Bitcoin Cash) shilling at the second paragraph. BCH's schtick is "cheap transactions" so they're actively pushing microtransactions.

This idea is wrong on so many levels... I remember seeing around a satirical parody of such a system (with a random numbers "payment" system), and it was fun. This thing is just bad, and the amount of work that went into it is frightening.
