HAPPY NEW YEAR! SNOW! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Ok, now that I have that out of my system please enjoy this first issue of 2022.
Excellent capsule full of retro (mostly gaming) geekery. However, there are a couple parts of the capsule in the works for Lego and RC cars.
Just a gemlog but a very nice one. Give it a look and consider subscribing.
The gemini home of Pseudo-Riemann. I'll let them tell you what their capsule is all about.
On this capsule I will publish ramblings about philosophy and science, short stories, artwork, and whatever else I feel like in the moment. Feel free to say hello in the guestbook or give feedback to my posts via comments!
A very nice capsule with writings, projects and more. Make sure to scroll down and bask in that sweet sweet underconstruction ASCII art!
We featured a couple gemrings back in Issue 14 and here is one more. This one is geared towards gathering together those who are also a part of the fediverse (eg. Mastodon).
My relationship with the fluffy white winter precipitation has had its ups and downs. When I was young it represented fun, sledding, snowball fights and sometimes the ultimate treat...SNOW DAY! A school cancelled free for all! As I got older the snow started to mean the hassle of snow shoveling and an obstacle to getting around. But it also meant skiing which I love. Even as an adult a big snow storm often resulted in spending a good portion of the day bombing down the biggest and best sledding hill in town. Now that I've been living somewhere that you see coconut palms around the neighborhood, snow has become a bit more nostalgic.
This issue is releasing later in the day than usual because I didn't really have anything to go here. Then I woke up this New Year's morning to snow on the ground and that signature quietness when you step outside. This snow was more magical than most however. It has been 6 years since I've seen snow in person but this is the first time our children have ever seen snow. The squeals of excitement as they ran down the hallway and discovered the white landscape out the windows warms my heart in ways little else can. "Daddy, Opa look! It's snowing out the front window and the back window too!" the 4 year old exclaims! Well, I best get on finishing up this coffee and breakfast so we can get to making some snowmen.

I made a video about how to handle input in Gemini. It covers the status code 10 techniques in CGI as well as strategies for using client certificates. You can view the video over on youtube. If you are a Peertube user, you have my permission to duplicate the video to that network. I don't currently have a Peertube account running.

To make this look more like a crossword, the squares are 3 spaces wide. So an example answer would look like this:
█████ ███ ███ █████ ██ E X A M P L E ██ ██ ███ ███ ███ ██
███████████████████████████████████████████ █████¹ ███² ███³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ██ ██⁷ ███ ███ ███ █████ █████ ███ ███ ███⁸ █████ ██⁹ ¹⁰ ¹¹ ¹² ██████ ██████¹³ ██ ██ ███¹⁴ ███ ███¹⁵ ██ ██¹⁶ ███¹⁷ ███ ██████ ██ ██ █████████ ███ ███¹⁸ █████████ ██ ██ ██████¹⁹ ███²⁰ ███²¹ ██ ██²² ███ ███²³ ²⁴ ███ ██ ██ ██████ ██████²⁵ ²⁶ ²⁷ ██ █████²⁸ ²⁹ ███ ███ ███ █████ █████ ███ ███ ███³⁰ ██ ██³¹ ███ ███ █████ ███████████████████████████████████████████

To play Stinky Pinky you will need to read the two descriptions below. They each describe a word and the two words rhyme. Example: 1. Smelly, 2. Finger; Answer: Stinky Pinky. Get it? You can email your answer to the address found at the bottom of each smolZINE to confirm if you are correct.
