Well, my preferred answer would be something like this:
By using gemtext format the author surrenders any control of presentation of their content. The presentation is completely delegated to the readers client.
If my readers' clients create inline images from the links in my writing ... well, go for it. But would you please be so kind as to leave me alone with my plain text client? I'd be ever so grateful!
