this isn't something i do with every single one of my decks. and even when i do study them the process often looks different. but this is what my study of the lioness oracle looks like:

i do the cards in order, except alternate the majors and minors to not get completely overwhelmed. a few majors - a few minors. starting with the fool and the wands, respectively. in between bouts of book and deck study i dip in and out of what i knew as the Tarotbound guide - a pdf from dawn michelle's website, which seems to now be a self-published book on amazon:

(i don't know in what ways it's been revised and expanded, the original file was 88 pages of prompts, so this one is significantly longer. maybe i'll buy it one day, i do keep using the old one... although her husband is a cop so i'm not thrilled to be throwing money their way. anyway!)

for each card i:

with the different amount of material, i devote a page to each minor and a spread to each major. it's a handful! so yeah, sometimes there's a... two year break. but it's definitely a bonding experience i enjoy, when i don't let myself get overwhelmed.
