falling asleep

listening to: underdog - kasabian

- deep diaphragm breaths, slow, with extra long soundless exhales (bonus: gets really hot, must be all the blood flow)
- progressive muscle relaxation
- just being, presence with the tired body. the bed beds, the window windows, and i am.
alternatively, if embodiment doesn't seem to be working and the brain wants to brain - daydreams/visualizing. this also seems to yield more vivid/easier recalled dreams:
- what would my perfect room look like if i had one
- perfect morning routine
- one i'm recently enjoying - a train ride. a space out of space and a time out of time, no expectations. a world unto itself. maybe i'm having a snack, maybe i'm looking through a little shopping i've done, reading a magazine that doesn't exist irl, watching the landscape. maybe it's night and i'm in a sleeper car. maybe it's modern and hushes along quietly, maybe it's old and the wheels rock and clatter in a soothing rhythm...
- in the past: sleeping in the backrooms, sleeping in catacombs
something i'd like to try is a practice owlmoon on youtube calls journeying with deity, something she does before bed. i haven't exactly seen her expand on it (haven't looked yet). i'm pretty sure it's either meditation or trance-work, witchy flight. could be a cool addition to my spiritual practice.
