We took the funicular railway up a nearby mountain.
None of us “like heights”, so while the view was breathtaking we all found it a bit stressful. It was ... interesting ... explaining to the kids that they need to stay on the path, or the next step could be a very long, very final step.
Safely back at ground level we had time to admire a castle:
before dropping in briefly at the penultimate day of the Montreux jazz festival then catching the train home.
All of which is my roundabout way of saying that I’ve decided to finally let on where we live: we’re in Switzerland, in the French-speaking region, along Lac Léman.
I’m an immigrant: born English, but here for fifteen years and now also Swiss.
The reason I say this is simple: there are plenty of fun posts I can think of that need that background to make sense.
But those will have to wait for another day.
