The Sheet Music Archive is part of the Werner Icking Music Archive archive and contains ready-to-print sheet music, scores and parts, most of them as Pdf files (indicated by the icon ). A few scores are available in compressed Postscript format (indicated by the icon ). Names printed in Bold types in the sheet note index pages lead to the score directories where you can see the size of the pdf- and postscript files.
Most links to scores on the archive page are followed by the icon . If you click at that icon usually the first page of the score containing music is shown as image. For some browsers this is done in a new window which is re-used for the next image. The resolution of the image is inferior compared to resolution of the Pdf- and Postscript files. It is not meant for printing the music. leads you to additional information. points at MIDI-files or other sound files.
For most works the e-mail address of the composer or editor is given. Use this address for any feed-back, praise, critics, blame, ... and asking for the conditions to be allowed to perform the (modern) works in the public.
The archive contains "free" sheet music, free for non-commercial usage. This means that you may download the files for viewing or printing as paper copies, which may not be sold. It does not mean, that you may distribute digital copies of these editions in the given format or any other converted format. The right to print the music does not imply the right for public performances if the music is not already in the public domain. Please contact the composers concerning the conditions for public performance.
To add some stuff to this section upload it to the incoming directory of the Werner Icking Music Archive. Depending on your browser type you may do so by pointing your browser to ftp://mutex-anon@upload.sunsite.dk/. When prompted for a password enter mutex. If that doesn' work connect to upload.sunsite.dk with an ftp client and login with the username mutex-anon and the password mutex. Don't forget to also send an e-mail about your upload to Christian Mondrup. Pdf is now the primary format of ready-for-print sheet music on the archive and you should therefore preferably upload your scores as Pdf files. The page format of your scores should be set to US-letter size in order to make them fit on both American letter (8.5" x 11") and European A4 (210mm x 297mm) paper. Contributors are encouraged to upload their source files used for typesetting along with the final score in which case they will be made available to the web guests. But that is definitely no condition for contributing to the sheet note archive.
