a wild day of meeting every new person you can think of — even though i've seen all of their faces on zoom already.

the team has flown in from many corners of the globe to descend upon this new york city office building.

breakfast, then meetings, then an important planning session where i spent time with a new team (the people selling the product, as opposed to the design team, where i look like i belong on paper.)

it was important to make that shift in mindset. i'm a designer who serves commercial interests, for better or for worse, and can't stay in a bubble with other typographically-aware folk all the time.

in the evening, me and a smaller group went off to eat dinner and play pool.

in a most unelegant manner, i skipped dinner and only showed up to play pool. i'm not comfortable eating around other people unless i'm sure i'll have something at that restaurant. which i was *not* sure about. in fact, positively negative about the prospect of my eating there.

pool was great, though. being the only sober one in the group, my shit-talking was unaffected. as well as my cueing. i won most of my games except for one by technicality.

not that anyone is keeping score.
