This page lists the items from my AdventureWishlist I no longer want to buy. Sometimes I also point out why. 😄
AdventureWishlist
- Oriental Adventures by Wizards of the Coast – More Asian inspiration... ¹² But I think I already have enough of those. I need Asian themed adventures! 😄 One review also said: “This is primarily a mechanical supplement. If prestige classes and feats do not serve to convey the feeling of a game to you, you may find this book insufficient.” I guess if I want less rule complexity, I should give it a pass.
- Tome of Battle: The Book of Nine Swords by Wizards of the Coast – not sure at all whether I care for “stances” all those other extension. ³ The review I read lists lots of stuff I would not care about at all. I’m not looking for new feats and abilities for players. I’m looking for inspiration to make my games better.
- Weapons of Legacy by Wizards of the Coast – I like magic weapons whose power depends on the wielder’s level. But there was a thread on EN World that made me change my mind. ⁴ Basically we had three weapons of legacy in my Kitsunemori campaign: One was used for a character that was eventually abandoned by his player; one was planned for a character whose player will move away and quit the game; but the last one I’m planning to use to move the campaign from RedHandOfDoom to the CityOfBrass.
- The Mother of All Treasure Tables by Necromancer Games – non-magical treasure. ⁵ But then again, perhaps this can wait.
- Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde by Wizards of the Coast – mini-campaign taking players from 1st to 7th level. I later read somewhere that it was pretty linear and basically asked you to kill everthing. Since I didn’t like Barrow of the Forgotten King that much, I’ve decided to skip this one.
- Sons of Gruumsh by Wizards of the Coast – should I order it as a prequel to Red Hand of Doom? ⁶ It’s supposed to be pretty good. Then again, Red Hand of Doom is supposed to be better.
- Book of the Planes by Mongoose Publishing – then again, I don’t think I’ll be running games on the various planes any time soon now. ⁷
- Secrets of the Planes – Planar Faction by Ronin Arts – more planes... ⁸
- [A DM's Directory of Demiplanes by Ronin Arts](http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=A+DM's+Directory+of+Demiplanes+Ronin+Arts) – and even more planes... ⁹

I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for Oriental Adventures. Yes, it’s full of rules crunch, but there’s also a lot of good fluff in there too - far more in fact than there appears on first readthru. It’s all those character classes and monsters which hide all the real goodness. The detail behind the clans and the history of Rokugan is nothing short of excellent. Add in the Rokugan campaign book itself (which I’m also going to send you, btw), and there’s loads of adventure ideas bursting out at the seams.
Even if you don’t use Rokugan as a setting, the information about the different clans and rivalries is terrific inspiration.

Cool! 😄 I’m absolutely looking for more inspiration, so if they wove it into the crunch, that’s excellent news!
