Another online CD shop... This time a small label in the UK, specializing in world music, old recordings, etc.

I really enjoy a lot of CDs this label has.

Hello,

I just got your catalogue by regular mail, and decided to take a look at the Fado CDs of yours.

I often use a Text Browser to browse the web. On your website, you seem not to use so-called ALT-Texts for the images you use in your menus. This makes it harder to navigate than necessary, since now I get to see the filenames of the pictures, instead of some textual representation. Hopefully it will be possible to change this whenever do you next website overhaul... 😄 Here is an example of how the title page looks in my browser:

At other times, the ALT-Texts are lacking, but it is not that important – eg. when I look at the CD list itself, I do not mind that much. Here, for example, there is some sort of number instead of the ALT-Text. Perhaps an empty ALT-Text (” “) would be enough – then I would not see the file name, at least.

And here somebody obviously thought of providing an ALT-Text, but forgot to write one 😄

Note how the image “wantmain” should probably have an ALT-Text such as “Click here to order”.

Anyway, I still like the music. 😄

Well, there was something else to complain about – when I wanted to order the CDs, I had to have JavaScript active... Sent them another mail... Lets see what happens...

JavaScript

From: AlexSchröder Subject: javascript on your website Date: Tue, 10 Dec 2002 20:05:03 +0100

Hi,

I was just about to order some CDs with my text-browser, and now I find that I cannot click on the links, because they require Javascript... Now I have to switch to my other heavy-weight browser which I usually do not need, how annoying. ;)

Anyway, since you really do not need Javascript for links, I think I’d let you know so that you can think about it when you start the next website redesign.

Alex.
