I used to be a developer during most of the day for over 25 years. These days I write the documentation for new developers.
Outside of the office, my most visible projects are two wikis:
The code repositories for the software I wrote, forked or maintain are public. Some of them are mirrored on GitHub. Newer projects are no longer mirrored.
I actually think that political issues are more important than writing software or talking about software. Generally speaking I think political issues involving human rights are the most important ones. I am also interested in politics elsewhere if chances are high that the developments will reach Switzerland sooner or later.
I think politics is extremely important and I think the tendency to retreat into our little backyards and turn apolitical is a big problem for society. At the same time, the polarization of those that do care, and their apparent inability to reason with each other, is also very disturbing.
I’m interested in wikis, blogs, and free software in general. This is where I was first confronted with copyright, patents, and trademarks. With more and more people starting to use the Internet as a medium for publishing, more and more people are being affected by laws that were intended to only affect publishers and entrepreneurs.
