Winter World by A.G. Riddle was weird. I wouldn’t have finished it if it hadn’t listened to it as an audiobook.
That said, these days I don’t finish most books as I’m easily bored and have a vivid imagination so as soon as I think I know what the author is going to write, I loose interested very fast.
Winter World read like an adventure story for kids by a conservative man, i.e. main characters with practically no flaws, a story with no social politics, climate cooling because of alien artefacts instead of talking about the current climate collapse, no sex politics, hand holding instead of sex (not saying I need the sex but I’ll notice when people are holding hands instead of having sex…), no other politics either, and lots of American leadership.
There are things happening in the sense of an adventure story but I feel like I’m 38 years older than the target audience, so I can only recommend this book if you’re a conservative teenager.

Reminds me of VeggieTales, where God smites Sodom residents for orgies of slapping each other in the face with fish.

Ah, the joys of Asterix & Obelix and the fish monger and everybody else, slapping each other in face with fish.
