We’ve been watching a lot of Ted Lasso. We’ve also both had Covid-19. My wife is mostly well again, it seems. My voice is still pretty bad, and the headache is never far, but I think the worst is over. Let’s hope it all clears out in the next few days.
I’ve gone back to some ideas of mine.
Fantasy Traveller, that is: Halberts and Knives. Halberts is the one where your character starts fully formed and Knives is the one where your character starts without any skills at all and you’re supposed to play an adventure per year, gaining a skill for every year.
A while ago I wrote a mini-setting generator for a world of valleys with giants and dragons and towns and secret societies and all that. In Knives, that’s still the default mini-setting. At the end, however, I talk about adapting the game to very different settings. One of them would be Myrkheim, a sort of dwarf underworld.
These last few days, I’ve been writing a mini-setting generator for Myrkheim. A lot of stuff still isn’t done, but I think you can see what I’m hoping to do.
a mini-setting generator for Myrkheim
What’s still lacking are local situation with potential energy waiting for players to show up.
And, like last time, feel free to take it and change it. The HTML, CSS, Javascript, and all the random tables are all in one single file. Download it and open it in your browser. Start changing stuff. 👍

I spent some time writing a bit of Javascript that generates this map. Oh well.
A map that looks like a spider web with letters A to X
I’m not sure how important the map actually is. It’s a point crawl, and underground the cardinal directions are meaningless. So from a player perspective, it matters not. But for a reader… I guess it looks a bit like a corona virus or a spider web and that’s the right mindset for adventuring in Myrkheim.

I wasted time adding OSR compatible D&D stats instead of writing actual entries, so I undid it all. I need to focus on writing actual entries instead of fiddling.
