Friday night, my wife is reading a magazine and I’m chatting on Signal…
I’m starting to feel the pull again – playing three sessions of Helmbarten with my wife, and chatting about it on a German forum and on Mastodon is making me want to play more!
Peter’s comment made me do it:
@phf: @kensanata Let’s do a one-shot!
I think I’m going to reuse a campaign wiki I used ages ago for “indie game night” in the before times when I still met people face to face for gaming.
This is the wiki were we coordinate short campaigns games in English and German for all sorts of systems. By “short campaigns” we mean anything from one to six sessions. Sessions usually happen Monday or Saturday nights, from 20:15 to 22:00. That’s not a lot of time so there is not a lot of socialising – that needs to happen on Signal. Please remember to copy stuff we want to keep onto the wiki. – Montags in Zürich
We had a short chat on Signal and agreed to the following:
We haven’t talked about the actual games we want to play. There’s a queue on the wiki, though: Helmbarten, Hypertellurians, and Ambition & Avarice. I’m thinking, first I’ll run some Helmbarten, then Peter will run some Ambition & Avarice, and then I might give Hypertellurians a try.
I’m personally mostly interested in small groups these days: referee and two or three players, for example. At the table, I always liked big groups with five or six players, but online, that hasn’t worked well for me: not as a player, and not as a referee.

Oh no… I keep adding games to the list! Ultraviolet Grasslands (UVG), Yoon-Suin, Silent Titans, Soft Horizons…

UVG is tons of prep work. I DMS.who like that. Read two pages of gygax packed text and make notes / a place for table use.
You never played yoon suin before? I figured you would in the g+ days. Classic for a reason. Its prep buy who does not like rolling on tables?!
Silent titans I tried to play got 1/4th of way through before players left the area via cosmic train.
Its improved heavy, packed Stewart language that needs a lot of yea and from everyone like fiasco
It got a bit RPG dream for my players very pretty though

Sadly, I’m one who buys books and PDFs and then never gets to play them. Something I’m trying to rememdy now... But I’ve got unplayed stuff for years and years.
