Today my wife and I have been together for 27 years. It still amazes me how wonderful this time has been.
Ever since cancer came and went, I also keep thinking about the frailty of life, how we cannot be sure of anything, and most importantly, that it is far from a given that we’re going to spend another 27 years together.
XKCD knows so much about cancer, it scares me. Three days ago I was looking at two of the comics linked and I started crying. These situations tell me that the hurt is real, that even though almost all the days are happy, the body still remembers.
