How I grew older:
And in the next few years: World Music, Classical Music, more Jazz… but much less intense than when I was growing up.
There was also a short window where I was massively into Massive Attack, Tricky and Portishead. 👍
Belle & Sebastian, Tom Waits, Radiohead... I think all of this happened while I was still at university. I remember once reading an article arguing that most of our music taste is settled by the time we’re 16.
What about you?

I won’t argue with science. Our taste may be settled by 16, but music marches on. I’m 55 now, and I just discovered in the last year that I quite like some Hip-hop.

I just tried finding that article again and here’s something that goes a bit further up: We stop discovering new music at age 30, a new survey suggests — here are the scientific reasons why this could be.
I do remember hearing the jingles on What Trump Can Teach Us About Con Law by Doomtree. On their blog: “Our good friend Roman Mars, host and creator of the 99% Invisible podcast and co-founder of Radiotopia, has just released a new podcast into the world called What Trump Can Teach Us About Con Law. It’s a fascinating glimpse into Con Law 101 and the US Constitution, and the entire podcast is soundtracked by Doomtree artists. You’ll hear all sorts of musical tidbits throughout every episode.”
What Trump Can Teach Us About Con Law
Maybe I’ll discover hip hop when I’m 55! 😄
