2018-07-27 Say No

I’ve married my first girlfriend and have been with her since we were 17/18. I’m 45 now. That’s why I’m no good given my advice about relationships and flirting and friend zones and all that, and I don’t have kids so there’s no reason for me to try and go back and think about these things. Recently, however, I read #1127: “I think my friend is falling in love with me and I don’t feel the same way.” It is in fact an explanation for women doing the emotional labor for men. Ever wondered what that might mean? Read this post!

#1127: “I think my friend is falling in love with me and I don’t feel the same way.”

And boys are not socialized to hear that stuff and take it seriously when girls say it. Look at what this guy is already doing to push boundaries – looking up where you live, making plans to visit you, and making light of it when you tell him you don’t want him to. Look at what you feel like you have to do – how much emotional labor you have to take on trying to strategize to deal with his feelings that you never asked for!
