The sun went up and the sky was blue! We drove along the north coast from Portstewart along the Causeway Road to the Giant’s Causeway and discovered that parking was expensive: £6 for parking at one point, more than £5 per person for a ticket at another place. Welcome to the UK! Considering that many attractions in Ireland hat been €3 per person or free with the Heritage card...

The weather was nice so we stayed up there at the coast until sun down. As we drove south towards Belfast the clouds returned.

At the Hilton in Templepatrick I had to pay £15 because I wanted to read emails in our room. This is ordinary broadband! The wifi in the lobby is not free either. There is not even a desktop with which to read emails. That one also costs a few pounds for access to some sort of executive lounge. Sure, this is not really a lot of money if you comapare it to the cost of the room and the car and all that. But if you compare it to other hotels and coffee shops where it is free, it aggravates me. This is lousy!

We had a small room at the Hilton Templepatrick Hotel & Country Club. I don’t play golf. We spent some time at the pool, steam bath and Jacuzzi and ate in their bar. But mostly I remember their rip-off pricing for Internet access.

I have similar experiences: in my opinion, the standard of the hotels in the UK is poor!
