I used to install the Firefox add-on Adblock Plus and block all those blinking and moving images. There was enough motion on my screen to give me motion sickness or cause an epileptic seizure! The animated graphics annoyed me a lot, anyway.
But now I remembered to look for an alternative: Visit about:config and set image.animation_mode to once.

It doesn’t help against Flash, though. For those animations that continue to annoy me, Adblocker is still but a click away.
