Weird. I just discovered a BookCrossing number in the current book Iβm reading. But I got the book from BookMooch. Two ideas have come together to bring me β Shogun by James Clavell. π
When I decided to read the book, I faintly remembered seeing Shogun on TV back in the eighties. Perhaps my mom used to watch them. All I could remember was the scene where a Samurai pees on the protagonist. I was quite impressed... ;)

I read Shogun a couple of years back. To this date I think that book was the best I have read (and yes, I *have* read more than one). π More than anything I found it realistic and, dare I say it, believable. Itβs well researched and descriptive but doesnβt spend forever describing boring irrelevant (but well researched) details. (Three notoriously descriptive books that spring to mind are Shibumi, Life of Pi, and Hyperion, which I just finished.) You get a real feel for the worthlessness of life in those times.
Anyway it convinced me to read another James Clavell novel, King Rat which I also enjoyed.

There are quite a few people who βreleaseβ Bookcrossing books via Bookmooch. At least we know that the book is going to someone who wants it. π
