I like Merric’s How to be a killer DM essay. The impression I get from some of my players is that they are gamers (into the rules and combat) and yet I haven’t been able to establish that player characters come and go. The average party level is five, and only one permanent death until now.
I think that my Kitsunemori campaign has created a terrible meat-grinder (two-weapon fighting ranger with a reach weapon) and a tank (AC 25 or more), and they need some serious challenges. Time to resurrect that minotaur castle, add some class levels, hide a Weapon of Legacy, and creep them out! 😄

As I told you last time we played, the challenge is not to kill a PC, but to mess him up that good that he commits suicide to escape your attentions :-P
