In my renewed efforts to find more players for my roleplaying group in Zürich, Switzerland. (Hehe, trying to mention all the keywords I expect Googlers to use…) I created a D&D Meetup Group for USD 19/month. Let’s see whether it works. ;)
Finally I understand the Meetup business model, haha.
While online, I also found that there is a Zürich Arabic Language Meetup Group! I joined.

Currently my problem is that I’m feeling down regarding my Arabic. 🙁
1. I made no friends who speak Arabic.
2. It turns out that Claudia doesn’t need it at all for her oriental dancing.
3. Some of the people Claudia and I have met from the Arabic speaking community here in Zürich have made a less savoury impression.
4. Any plans for holidays in Arabic speaking countries are being pushed back by the constantly deteriorating global situation.
5. I have not found any new Arabic cultural products I might be interested in. I’ve read Naguib Mahfouz in German and I don’t think I’ll ever be good enough to read it in Arabic. And I don’t understand a word when I listen to Arabic music. I can’t even translate the song titles on Claudia’s CDs.
Perhaps a meetup will help solve the first problem? If not, I’m seriously considering to give up on my Arabic. :fishbone:
