2007-01-25 Red Hand of Doom

Temptation struck... And I bought The Red Hand of Doom after reading a five-star John Cooper review. Reading the book now, I’m thinking to myself: I shall be spending more money on adventures instead of campaign settings. More playing value for my money!

Methinks you really need that *Dungeon* subscription 😄

Totally! :D

When I look at the Paizo website, however, under a subscription for Europe, it says:

*Shipping Restrictions* This product may only ship to the following countries at the indicated price: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Vatican City, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

I think these guys confused Europe with the European Union... Where is Switzerland!? `/me` sends Melf’s Acid Arrow!

I guess I need to subscribe using International shipping. 🙁

Strangely enough, there’s a site in the UK called The Place For Games that sells subscriptions for Switzerland.

The Place For Games

You know what’s coming, right? Comparing prices of at least two vendors... ;)

Paizo sells 12 issues for Europe (ex. Switzerland) at USD 72.95 (CHF 91), International shipping at USD 79.95 (CHF 100), where as The Place For Games sells 12 issues at GBP 60 (CHF 147). Whoa!

This reminds me of my attempts to buy MusicOfIslam from the UK. It was cheaper to buy it from Australia directly. (But they didn’t want to sell directly, so I ended up ordering it from a local distributor, which was fine by me.)

Thus, I bought a 12 issue subscription from Paizo. 😄

Excellent 😄 you won’t regret it; *Dungeon* really is going from strength to strength right now, with 3 consistently good adventures per issue, and the promise of more adventure paths to come. All three APs so far (Shackled City, Age of Worms and Savage Tide) have provided some of the best adventures ever written.
