2007-01-14 Programming vs. RPG

A three month holiday is slowly coming to an end. Looking back, it wonder:

1. I haven’t coded nearly as much for Oddmuse as I thought I would. I basically spent two or three days in the last week coding, and that’s it. An existing FCGI installation proved too difficult to work with (unable to kill processes and the like in a shared hosting environment). Rewriting slurp access to the log files proved to be too difficult for a quick fix. Single page rollbacks have not been solved either. Damn! My Oddmuse:Plans remain practically unchanged.

2. I’ve picked up roleplaying games again, inspired by GreyWulf’s M20 system. I’ve ended up buying the D&D 3.5 ed core rules, hanging out on some EN World forums, writing adventures, organizing weekly sessions, and drawing maps. And I’ve been enjoying myself very much.

I wonder what else might have contributed to this...

Lol! OK, I accept part of the blame. Just wait till I start work on converting WikidDungeons to Microlite20. Maybe you’ll find time to work on oddmuse again then 😄
