Nausicaä Yesterday we went to see another movie from Ghibli studios: Nausicaä (1984). When it started, I was surprised to see the WWF logo for a second. As the movie progressed, I understood. I loved how the heroine strove hard to find a third way – a way that does not support one aggressor or the other, but reaches beyond. She understood what I’ve said on this site again and again, paraphrasing Christa Wolf: What good is it to fight your enemies if you have to become like them in order to win?
Very recommended.
I really need to see more movies from Ghibli. I’ll take a look at the Ghibli Fansite and head over to my local DVD exchange website...

I saw back in the 90s sometime. I was too young to understand it totally but it was one of the animes that I distinctly remember.

This is also one of my favorites. Princess Mononoke is also very enjoyable.

Totally! I loved Princess Mononoke (1997) & Spirited Away (2001). Howl’s Castle (2004) was not as superb but merely very good. 😄

You might want to read the manga too; The only manga (as far I know) that Miyazaki has written. You wouldn’t know it from reading it, though. – LionKimbro

I like となりのトトロ (Tonari no Totoro) very much. A movie meant for children - and loved by all japanese.
