A sudden spell of food poisoning after Christmas allowed me to read Autumn Bridge by Takashi Matsuoka. I liked it. Samurais and Geishas followed me into my feverish dreams. 😄

There was less cruelty than in Cloud of Sparrows. I also liked how the continuous jumping back and forth in time provided for a peaceful resolution to the matter of fate & death. Reading future chapters makes it possible to empathize with the characters when reading past chapters. It was quite intriguing. And the arrangements of the chapters was certainly no easy task, for it was captivating until the very end.
Recommended – if you fancy some cliché Japan-fiction…
