I had the feeling that somebody was stealing bandwidth in our OpenWlan... So I got myself NmapFE for OSX and clicked a few options for the equivalent of running `nnmap -sP 10.0.1.*`.
Result:
Starting nmap 3.70 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2006-12-01 19:52 CET Host 10.0.1.1 appears to be up. MAC Address: 00:11:24:0D:17:89 (Apple Computer) Host 10.0.1.3 appears to be up. Host pyrobombus (10.0.1.7) appears to be up. MAC Address: 00:16:CB:05:7C:89 (Unknown) Host 10.0.1.8 appears to be up. MAC Address: 00:04:20:06:92:C0 (Slim Devices) Host 10.0.1.12 appears to be up. MAC Address: 00:04:20:06:92:C0 (Slim Devices) Host 10.0.1.255 seems to be a subnet broadcast address (returned 1 extra pings). Nmap run completed -- 256 IP addresses (5 hosts up) scanned in 3.956 seconds
I guess the crappy network today is due to something else.
