Germany seems to be following in the footsteps of the big brother accross the ocean instead of learning from lessons in Iraq, according to TelePolis: They’re sending troops (less than 1000) to ensure the safety of the coming elections in Congo (a country as big as western Europe with about 58M people). The mind boggles. The article then goes on to talk about national interest, the rising prices rare metals used in mobile phones, the new security strategy in Germany, and other such things. ¹
Not much different from what I dislike about the USA, just on a smaller scale. And denying the similarities, but dodging when asked whether the troops with their “humanitarian” goals would also help nationalize the mines (as Morales is doing in Bolivia) for the good of the people.
Yuck.
