Tim writes in the O'Reilly Radar that he has been using the image of Kempelen’s Mechanical Turk (Mechanical Turk) to “emphasize the point that one of the things that distinguishes web applications from PC-era applications is the fact that web applications actually have people inside them, working daily as part of the application.” ¹
