Richard Rutter is writing The Elements of Typographic Style Applied to the Web. He’s basically going through The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst. In my copy of The Zen of CSS Design by Dave Shea and Molly E. Holzschlag, they also list Elements of Typographic Style. Here’s what they have to say about it:
The Elements of Typographic Style Applied to the Web

This book provides a comprehensive and advanced look at typography. The encyclopedic depth of knowledge represented and assumed makes it hard to read for anyone but the most advanced typographers, but the practical application of theory makes it a must read anyway.
Argh! Maybe I’ll just read a few articles in Rutter’s blog, subscribe to the RSS feed, and decide later whether I actually want to read the book.
Heh. e1f suggested I read http://www.typographi.com/. There was a nice article on the digitalisation of an old East German font ¹, which ended in a very cool image illustrating the powers of OpenType.
