PierreGaston pointed this out to me – and it sounds fabulous. Except that I’d have to move to Oslo, Norway. Too bad!

They write: “We are looking for a Community Manager that will work closely with Trolltech Engineering and Marketing groups to build a vibrant Qt community and ensure an appreciation and understanding of the community’s requirements.” ¹

• Define and implement an Open Source Community Plan → no problem, I can write plans
• Actively contribute to relevant Blogs → I do that anyway
• Create, initiate and drive tactics targeting users, evangelists, universities/colleges, open source projects and community influencers → I don’t think this should be hard
• Actively participate in on-line forums and newsgroups → no problem
• Deliver presentations at external open source events and to internal teams → perfect match!
• International experience (working in or with multi-cultural environments) → of course!
• Knowledge of the open source community and developers who participate in open source projects is critical → perfect!
• Proven cross-cultural sensitivity → I hope so
• A high level of technical understanding → Yes!
• University level education desirable, or equivalent → Me!!
• A thorough knowledge of the software market, open source key players and projects → nothing that cannot be fixed

This sounds amazing.

Why not in Zürich? 😄

I’d also like a part-time job, to be honest. How else would I get enough involvement in free software projects?
