I had determined that my iTunes was full of crap and that I was no longer able to separate the good music from the crap. Mostly weird free electronica and retro music (beeps’n’blips) and large 700MB directories of streamripped music (ie. miscellaneous stuff from InternetRadio). Anyway, I *have* the good stuff in well-organized form, so I wanted to just delete all the crap in iTunes. But no luck. Whenever I tried to delete a non-trivial amount of stuff, iTunes crashed.

iTunes is crap.

So I just deleted the whole `~/Music/iTunes` folder. Much better.

The only stuff I really miss now are the subscriptions to my podcasts! A good opportunity to clean up: Just add the ones I actually remember.

1. The Word Nerds – three teachers talking about languages: One of the an English teacher, the other a German teacher, and the third a Latin teacher.

2. KEXP – community supported radio with shows featuring local acts as podcasts.

3. Bands Under The Radar – indie music

Umm... That’s it. I had some more history podcasts in my list, but they apparently rarely produced any new episodes. I wonder whether the sudden surge of podcasting with iTunes 4.9 killed them.

Ok, I will now check my blog for stuff I might have written this summer about music or podcasting. But nothing noteworthy emerged.
