There’s an interesting post about the number of Swiss blogs out there. How would you measure it? Here’s what they did:
1. Count active blogs on http://blogs.ch/ – 322 active out of 423
2. Searching Google for blog in Switzerland – returns 291 with similar pages omitted
3. Search GeoUrl for blogs less than 300km from the center of Switzerland – 472 found
What I find most interesting is the many ways of guestimating the number.
In the comment section I also noticed that people were using Gravatar – a central server for 80x80 pixel avatar images...

I just got rid of all the Gravatars on this site. Using the external service simply means leaking information and opening our visitors up to attacks via serving borked images.
