I saw *Eyes Wide Shut* the other day. IMDB:0120663. I didn’t like it at all, specially in the beginning. The story just turned me off.
As time went on, I was both impressed by the camera work (colors, lighting – eg. Kidman in a yellow/red light in front of a door or window with blue backlight), some plot elements (eg. the guy with the costume rental), and Nicole Kidman’s acting. (I was already very impressed with her acting in *The Hours*, IMDB:0274558.) When she is tired, when she gets up from the toilet, when has cried for hours, when she’s drunk and flirting, I love it. And I mean I love the *acting* – she’s not really my type. ;)
Another good point in favor of the movie is that some of the scenes came back to me the next day as I walked through town. If a movie manages to captivate my imagination such that it lingers in the background for hours and days, then it must have touched *something* in me. So perhaps this is a movie to watch again in a few years.
