I’ve been going through some of the Latino MP3s I ripped from WATS Internet Radio. We put the best tracks on a CD and loaded a section on our MP3 players. The effect is driving me crazy. *Every* track is great. Everytime a new track starts playing, I think to myself, oh wow! Yes! And the melodies just follow me arround during the day, lull me to sleep at night, and reappear in the early morning hours. Right now it’s the amazing song *Preciosa Puerto Rico* by Marc Anthony. It starts out with him singing a sugar sweet patriotic song about Puerto Rico. Slowly the bass starts playing, a clave is added, drums, trumpets, more and more instruments, and there are two or three points at which the stepping up is just incredible. I’m still close to tears when I hear it, and I must have heard it about twenty times these last days. Music is and remains of the most beautiful things in my life. I cannot imagine how my life would have turned out if Claudia had not convinced me to learn to dance. Salsa and Bachata are my favorites, and recently we have started taking Tango lessons. I still love to geek out at night. But when Marc Anthony sings into the off-beat, the trumpet goes grazy, and the beat picks up, I’m just so happy... 😄
