The Inquirer has a rant about the Microsoft way of making money ¹:
We are experiencing a major IT industry shift right now, and if you know where to look you can actually see it as it happens. This shift is all about Microsoft and open source.
Right. I sure hope he’s right.
LionKimbro is working on software infrastructure to maintain and query *personal logs* (plogs).
This is very interesting. Maybe I should start thinking about ways to integrate this with Oddmuse, too. At least write an extension for it.
I did some neat CSS tricks on CommunityWiki: Using themes, users can select whether they want to see explicit language paragraphs color-coded (default is on), whether they want to see only English and German (a proof-of-concept example), and whether they want “explicit near-links” – ie. the interwiki prefix shown for near-links, too. ². I also reworked the Community:NearLink page a bit.
A very satisfying rant ³ about the Public Domain Enhancement Act of 2003, AKA the Eric Eldred Act. I sure hope it passes!
