I’m such a bloody night-time person. I have difficulties going to bed before dawn!! And when I’m on holidays and have to meet somebody before noon, I have great difficulties in adjusting. From observing myself, I find that I prefer to go to bed about an hour later than the day before. So I got to bed around 2am when I work. Then 3am when holidays start or on a weekend. Then 4am. Then I try to cut it back, but often it is 5am or even 6am. This is terrible. I come from a planet where the day has 25h! Reminds me of some experiments they did with people living secluded from the outside; they also settle into a 25h activity schedule, and every now and then, they just stay awake for about 50h. Weird, eh? Goes to show how much independence we gained from natural light sources, for example. 😄

I sometimes fall into a “nocturnal cycle” (for want of a better term). One good method of breaking out of it is to force yourself to get up early on one day. That day will be really lousy but you’ll sleep early and then the cycle will readjust only to be thrown out of sync by another late night stunt. – NoufalIbrahim
