Ever get that slightly nervous joyful undefinable feeling when you decide to actually go an buy something you’ve been planning to buy for a long time? It is a similar feeling you get when random strangers flash you beautiful smiles, or when the sun filters through your surroundings and the light is *just* right.
Now, the question “What is this feeling?” doesn’t take us anywhere. More interesting: “How can we experience more of it?” Some people try to go shopping more often, but whatever single thing you consciously try to do more often, the experience will turn stale. Maybe that is the moment people discover that they are addicted to that single thing but that there no longer is any *kick* involved.
John ¹ would perhaps say that what we really get excited about is *quality* – we know something is good because of this excitement.
I shall look for it some more.
