I have been kicking around using my favorite alt-history and conspiracy theories as a game world. Tartaria, mud flood, the inheritor theory, recurring resets, antiquitech, hollow earth, etc. There is plenty of material on youtube, /x/, and other choice places to flesh this out. The timeframe could be modern day, or any time in the past. Pre-reset timeframes with functional advanced technology such as free-energy could be infinitely engrossing, and take the place of traditional magic.
