In the journey of life certain things become evident. In my teens and twenties, I would become distraught when the unexpected would happen. An interpersonal spat, the first time I got sued, financial issues, what have you. The difference with age is that pretty much nothing is unexpected, pretty much nothing is unhandlable. People come and go, finances -- I made the money once and can make it again, etc... When I watch young people complain of stress or insurmountable obstacles... it makes one of my eyebrows raise. Nothing is truly a big deal. The deadline will arrive, the bill will be handled, the situation will soon be past-tense.
The next time you feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath. There is absolutely nothing that cannot be dealt with, beat, and put behind you. Worry is a useless emotion. Anxiety is a waste of energy.
